Re: Operating Budget
The Hawai i County Fire Department has received a federal grant through the
Department of Transportation, State and Community Highway Safety Program
for the purchase of an extrication tool to be used to respond to emergency
victims of automobile collisions. This grant is for $71,408. Enclosed is a bill
for an ordinance appropriating these funds.

B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
The Hawaii County Fire Department received a federal grant through
the Department of Transportation, State and Community Highway
Safety Program. The funds are for the period 4/1/99 - 9/30/99 and
are 100 reimbursable. The project is entitled "Extrication Tool"
and will be used to upgrade the equipment that fire personnel use
to respond to emergency victims of automobile collisions.
