The funds are to purchase speed detection equipment. • Enclosed is a resolution to authorize the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the State Department of Transportation Public Affairs– Safe Community Program for this grant. Also enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating $61,000 for this grant. The Police Department requests that this bill be waived from the Finance Committee and be placed on the January 4, 2018 Council Agenda in order to expedite the receipt of these funds.
