STATE OF HAWAII <br /> Tg OFHF•� <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 456 18 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A <br /> DONATION OF FIVE HUNDRED (500) HOME MONITORING <br /> DEVICES TO THE HAWAII FIRE DEPARTMENT <br /> WHEREAS, State Farm Insurance, along with Canary are donating five <br /> hundred (500) Canary home monitoring units valued at $199 each to the Hawaii <br /> Fire Department; and <br /> WHEREAS, this equipment will be distributed to firefighters as part of <br /> State Farm Insurance's and Canary's joint "Protect the Protectors" campaign; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter <br /> provides that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations <br /> of money, securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in <br /> real estate, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawaii County <br /> Code states that any gifts or donations of money, securities, or personal property <br /> which fall within the capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may <br /> be accepted by resolution approved by the Council; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawaii Fire Department recommends the acceptance of <br /> this donation; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII <br /> that in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, <br /> and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County Code, the <br /> Council of the County of Hawaii accepts this donation. <br />
