As a member ofthe Hawaii County Mayor's Committee on People With
Disabilities, I am in full support Of including "REAL TIME CAPTIONING" as part of
the FEMA Project Impact Grant.
The Department of Justice, Office of the Attorney General, 28 CFR Part 35
"Non-Discrimination on the basis of disatrlity in state and local govemmerrt
services: Final Rute, Sec. 35.160 a,b,c and paragraph (b)(1)", revised as of
July 1, 1999 requires that a public entity shall famish appropriate awoliary aids and
serviC~3s.
Further delays can only invite a civil lawsuit such as the one recently on
K9usi.
Thank you in advance for considering this request. Should you require
further information, please advise.
