t---I.. <br /> ZYOFM,' <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII 4 '_•- STATE OF HAWAII <br /> orf OF ii <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 462 18 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE HAWAIIAN <br /> PARADISE PARK NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES <br /> RELATED TO ITS FOOD PANTRY PROGRAM. <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawaiian Paradise Park Neighborhood Watch is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit <br /> organization that operates a food pantry program distributing emergency food to families and <br /> individuals in need; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Food Pantry began in February 2017 and within 10 months has already <br /> serviced over 2,000 individuals; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Food Pantry volunteers distribute emergency food on the fourth <br /> Tuesday of the month from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at the Hawaiian Paradise Park Owners Association's <br /> Activity Center Pavilion; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawaiian Paradise Park Neighborhood Watch is requesting funds to <br /> assist with purchasing food from the Food Basket, Inc., to continue its Food Pantry program; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Department of Liquor Control supports community groups and <br /> organizations that provide alcohol- and drug-free events that build strong families and <br /> communities; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment,materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Hawaiian Paradise Park Neighborhood Watch to assist <br /> with expenses related to operating its Food Pantry program. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
