RESOLUTION NO. 462 18
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE HAWAIIAN
PARADISE PARK NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES
RELATED TO ITS FOOD PANTRY PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, the Hawaiian Paradise Park Neighborhood Watch is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit
organization that operates a food pantry program distributing emergency food to families and
individuals in need; and
WHEREAS, the Food Pantry began in February 2017 and within 10 months has already
serviced over 2,000 individuals; and
WHEREAS, the Food Pantry volunteers distribute emergency food on the fourth
Tuesday of the month from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at the Hawaiian Paradise Park Owners Association's
Activity Center Pavilion; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaiian Paradise Park Neighborhood Watch is requesting funds to
assist with purchasing food from the Food Basket, Inc., to continue its Food Pantry program; and
WHEREAS,the Department of Liquor Control supports community groups and
organizations that provide alcohol- and drug-free events that build strong families and
communities; and
WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment,materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the Department of
Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Hawaiian Paradise Park Neighborhood Watch to assist
with expenses related to operating its Food Pantry program.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Liquor Control and Director of Finance, and that the Director of
Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
