COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> �TE•OFHF'� <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 479 18 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO '0 KA`U KAKOU TO <br /> PURCHASE SUPPLIES FOR THE KEIKI EMERGENCY GO BAG. <br /> WHEREAS, '0 Ka`u Kakou is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that sponsors and <br /> supports community activities in the district of Ka`u that enhance the quality of life for keiki, <br /> kupuna, businesses, and the greater Ka`u community; and <br /> WHEREAS, '0 Ka`u Kakou is working in partnership with the Discovery Harbour <br /> Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) to co-sponsor creating a keiki emergency go <br /> bag that would be readily accessible in the event of an emergency; and <br /> WHEREAS, the keiki emergency go bag would contain items such as pictures of loved <br /> ones, identification with address and phone numbers, basic necessity items such as a flashlight, <br /> batteries, toiletries, bandages, and other special items for their security and comfort until the <br /> emergency is over; and <br /> WHEREAS, '0 Ka`u Kakou is requesting funds to purchase items for its keiki <br /> emergency go bag, to include supplies, snacks, and other basic necessities needed in an <br /> emergency situation; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney supports efforts to help keep <br /> Hawai`i County youth safe and healthy; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139 (a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to the Office of the <br /> Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to '0 Ka`u Kakou to assist with expenses for the keiki <br /> emergency go bags. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates as set forth below: <br />
