SUBJECT: Request for information from Corporation Counselor
Joseph Kamelamela regarding the County's supplemental contract
with Hawaiian Earth Recycling.
Pursuant to Council Rule No. 2(12)(c), I respectfully request thirty minutes on the
Environmental Management Committee agenda for a presentation by Corporation Counselor
Joseph K. Kamelemela. It has been almost a year since the contract with Hawaii Earth
Recycling for an Organics Waste Diversion Program was amended and renegotiated. This is a
request for an update on the supplemental contract which we recently learned has yet to be
executed. Also the Council wishes to be informed as to who is bearing the cost of the attorneys
engaged in developing this amended contract. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
