RESOLUTION NO. 486 IS
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF
MULTIPROTOCOL LABEL SWITCHING EQUIPMENT FOR THE
DEPARTMENT OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
WHEREAS, Maui County is donating multiprotocol label switching (MPLS)
equipment with a total value of $48,017.12 to the Department of Information and
Technology; and
WHEREAS, this equipment will be used to help complete Hawaii County's
MPLS network; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter
provides that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations
of money, securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in
real estate, and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawaii County
Code states that any gifts or donations of money, securities, or personal property
which fall within the capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may
be accepted by resolution approved by the Council; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Information Technology recommends the
acceptance of this donation; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII
that in accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter,
and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County Code, the
Council of the County of Hawaii accepts this donation.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this
resolution be sent to Walter H. Pacheco, Communications Coordinator, County of
Maui, 55 Mahalani Street, Wailuku, Hawaii 96793.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of Hawaii
shall transmit copies of this resolution to the Office of the Mayor, Department of
Information Technology, and the Finance Department.
