No. 688 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Kailua-Kona, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 1:30 p.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Communication No. 688, reports as <br /> follows: <br /> Communication No. 688, transmitted by Mayor Harry Kim, dated January 4, 2018, nominates <br /> Ruth Annette Smith to the Hawai`i County South Kohala Community Development Plan Action <br /> Committee. <br /> Ms. Rose Bautista, Executive Assistant to Mayor Kim, introduced Ms. Smith who appeared in <br /> person. Ms. Smith has lived in Hawaii for the past 32 years, and states that she is a member of <br /> the democratic party. If confirmed, she will serve a term to expire on January 31, 2020. <br /> Several Council Members commented in favor of Ms. Smith. The vote was then taken with all <br /> Council Members voting "aye."
