COUNTY OF HAWAII -;� � STATE OF HAWAII <br /> of . .... <br /> . art . .► <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 494 18 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE ISLAND OF <br /> HAWAII YMCA FOR ITS FAMILY VISITATION CENTER PROGRAM. <br /> WHEREAS,the Island of Hawai`i YMCA (YMCA) is a 501(c)(3)nonprofit <br /> organization that supports local communities by implementing programs and activities in areas <br /> of youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility; and <br /> WHEREAS, the YMCA's Family Visitation Center program provides a safe, neutral, <br /> and nurturing environment that promotes the safety and well-being of families who have been <br /> subject to domestic violence, divorce, separation, or custody disputes; arid <br /> WHEREAS, to continue this valuable service to the community, the YMCA is <br /> requesting funds to provide staffing for supervision and security during visitations and exchanges <br /> for the children's safety and well-being; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney supports domestic and family <br /> violence prevention and intervention initiatives by identifying areas of need and working <br /> collaboratively with other criminal justice agencies and community programs; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to the Office of the <br /> Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to the Island of Hawai`i YMCA to assist with expenses <br /> relating to its Family Visitation Center program. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
