In accordance with Hawaii County Code, Section 25-7-2 (b), I submit John L.
Hetherington and Michaela Ikeuchi for reappointments to the Kailua Village Design
Commission.
The Council confirmed Mr. Hetherington and Ms. lkeuchi to the Commission on
September 20, 2017 and August 16, 2017, respectively. Both nominees are now eligible
for full terms that will expire on December 31, 2020.
During your Committee on Planning, members spoke positively about these
nominations. It was noted that Mr. Hetherington's background would "bring a keen
sense of aesthetics" to the Commission while Ms. Ikeuchi was described as having
deep roots in the Kailua-Kona area.
I hope that you will carry forward those supportive reviews with favorable
