Dear Chairwoman Poindexter and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate John Walker of Council District 7 to the Transportation
Commission. Mr. Walker retired from Cadman, Inc., a leading supplier of construction
and building materials in Washington State. He is also a former Mayor and
Councilmember of Sultan, Washington. During his tenure in city government, Mr.
Walker participated in the forefront of planning and development of the mass transit and
light rail systems in Snohomish and King County, Washington.
Mr. Walker retired in Hawaii approximately 10 years ago and now volunteers his time as
President of his condominium board, a cashier at Costco, and a lei greeter for the
cruise ships, just to name a few.
Mr. Walker is not affiliated with any political party. If confirmed, he will serve a term
ending December 31, 2021.
