--NtY OF M�._• <br /> ��dd1, <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII -•f `,--' '/i•- STATE OF HAWAII <br /> +t�pE <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 497 18 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE ARTS & <br /> SCIENCE CENTER FOR A PAHOA SKATE PARK EVENT. <br /> WHEREAS, the Arts & Science Center (ASC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that <br /> was established in 2003 in Pahoa, that supports community development, greater access to <br /> education, and improving the quality of life through learning with aloha; and <br /> WHEREAS, the ASC is collaborating with the Friends of Pahoa Skate Park group to <br /> provide for a Pahoa Skate Park event in March 2018; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Pahoa Skate Park event will be free and open to the public and will <br /> consist of a ceremony to officially name the Pahoa Skate Park the "Ginny Aste Skate Park" and a <br /> celebration of the parks 10th anniversary; and <br /> WHEREAS, the ASC is requesting funds to offset the cost of advertising, sound <br /> q g g <br /> equipment, refreshments, and prizes for contests; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation supports community programs and <br /> groups that work to improve and maintain recreational facilities and enhance its programs; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the the Department of <br /> Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to the Art& Science Center to assist with funding for the <br /> Pahoa Skate Park event in March 2018. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
