A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT'S
NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH PROGRAM IN PUNA.
WHEREAS, the Neighborhood Watch program is a collaboration between police
officers, community members, business owners, and volunteers working to keep communities
safe; and
WHEREAS,Neighborhood Watch volunteers serve as additional eyes and ears for
police officers in the community they live or operate businesses in, reporting suspected criminal
activities while also serving to deter crime in isolated areas; and
WHEREAS, the Police Department is requesting funds to purchase materials and
supplies for the Neighborhood Watch program in Puna; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the Police Department
for its Neighborhood Watch program in Puna.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

OUT AND FROM:
010.101.5101.91 Clerk-Council SVC—Contingency Relief $1,000
CREDITED TO: Police Department
010.201.5214.02 Puna Police-OCE $1,000
235 Misc. Materials & Supplies
(Neighborhood Watch program in Puna)
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Chief of Police and Director of Finance, and that the Director of Finance is
hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
