Testimony in support of Bill 100
I am in support of the entirety of this bill, particularly the designation of the Pahoa District Park
as a site for a farmers' market.
The Puna Community Development Plan section 3.2.3.f states: "Provide land and infrastructure
for farmers'markets within village/town centers
The community enjoyed a farmers market in the Luquin's parking lot for years and has lost this
resource. They are in support of a farmers' market at their park.
The farmers' market will provide access to healthy food within the village and a venue for local
agriculture sales. The local community organizations are willing to step up to assist in any way
possible to make the management of the market a community project, not a County burden.
Please support this designation.
