To whom it may concern,
Please except this testimony to vote yes on Bill 99 in favor of naming the softball field in
Honokaa the "Lala Epenesa Jr. Ballfield"
Lala coached for Gold Coast Softball Little League from 2010. More then once, when
others would not stand up to coach, he has coached more then one division in a
season. Always supporting the girls of our community and helping to make sure that all
who wanted to play had the chance. He has traveled to the mainland with all-star
teams, made up of girls from multiple communities representing the Big Island, on
several occasions both as Manager and Assistant Coach. Always spreading the aloha of
our island and returning with new life long friends. His passing is a great loss to our
organization, we have lost a dedicated coach and mentor. Renaming this field would be
the right thing to do in his honor.
