A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE ISLAND OF
HAWAII YMCA FOR ITS FAMILY VISITATION CENTER PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, the Island of Hawai`i YMCA (YMCA) is a 501(c)(3)nonprofit
organization that supports local communities and families by offering activities,programs, and
services at its facilities; and
WHEREAS, the YMCA's Family Visitation Center program offers a safe, neutral, and
nurturing environment for visitations with family members that are experiencing domestic
violence, divorce, separation and/or custody disputes; and
WHEREAS, the YMCA is requesting funds to assist with the cost for staffing the
visitation center to provide supervision and security during visits and family exchanges for the
children's safety and well-being; and
WHEREAS, the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney supports domestic and family
violence prevention and intervention initiatives by providing safe and secure places for family
interactions during times of high stress and anxiety and supports agencies and programs that
provide those services; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the Office of the
Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to the Island of Hawai`i YMCA to assist with the cost
for staffing its Family Visitation Center program.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Prosecuting Attorney and Director of Finance, and that the Director of Finance
is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
