RESOLUTION NO. 512 18
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO ASSIST THE POLICE DEPARTMENT WITH
THE NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH PROGRAM IN KA`U.
WHEREAS,the Police Department strives to protect life and property and to actively
involve the community in crime prevention programs, such as Neighborhood Watch; and
WHEREAS, the Neighborhood Watch program is a collaboration between police
officers and community members dedicated to creating safer communities; and
WHEREAS, the Police Department is requesting funds to purchase needed supplies,
such as T-shirts, training materials, visor placards, and document binders for the Neighborhood
Watch program in Ka`u; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the Police Department
for the Neighborhood Watch program in Ka`u.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Chief of Police and Director of Finance, and that the Director of Finance is
hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this resolution.
