• <br /> \,��Jii. <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII '�•_4k !'*) STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 514 18 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO COMMUNITY FIRST <br /> INC. FOR TRANSPORTATION EXPENSES RELATED TO TROPIC CARE 2018. <br /> WHEREAS, Community First Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to <br /> achieving a sustainable medical system that provides quality care for everyone in our <br /> community; and <br /> WHEREAS, Community First Inc. is working in cooperation with the United States <br /> Army Reserve and the Hawai`i State Department of Health to put on Tropic Care 2018, which is <br /> an Innovative Readiness Training program that trains volunteer military personnel while <br /> addressing the needs of the community; and <br /> WHEREAS, Tropic Care 2018 will provide free health care to the public on June 18-28, <br /> 2018, at Kea'au High School; and <br /> WHEREAS, transportation is needed to bring those in need of free health care from <br /> other Council districts to Kea'au; and <br /> WHEREAS, Community First Inc. is requesting funds to cover expenses for the <br /> transportation of military personnel and residents from Council District 9 to Kea'au High School <br /> for Tropic Care 2018; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Research and Development supports programs that <br /> facilitate innovative public-private partnerships to create training and career opportunities for a <br /> resilient workforce in Hawai`i County; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to'Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Research and Development to provide a grant to Community First Inc. for transportation <br /> expenses related to Tropic Care 2018. <br />
