REPORT OF THE <br /> COMMITTEE ON AGRICULTURE,WATER AND <br /> ENERGY SUSTAINABILITY <br /> DATE: February 21, 2018 Re: Communication No. 751 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Kailua-Kona, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 1:05 p.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Agriculture, Water and Energy Sustainability,to which was referred <br /> Communication No. 751, report as follows: <br /> Communication No. 751,transmitted by Mayor Harry Kim, dated January 31, 2018, nominates <br /> Grayson Hashida of Council District 6 to the County of Hawai`i Game Management Advisory <br /> Commission. Motion to approve nomination of Grayson Hashida was made by Council Member <br /> David; 211d by Council Member Eoff. <br /> As introduced by Ms. Barbara Kossow, Deputy Managing Director for the County of Hawai`i, <br /> Mr. Hashida is an employee of the State of Hawai`i Judiciary as a Drug Court Coordinator and <br /> Probation Officer on Hawai`i Island, and is an avid hunter and fisherman who resides in West <br /> Hawai`i. Mr. Hashida is not affiliated with any political party, and if confirmed he will fill a <br /> term ending December 31, 2022. <br /> Nominee Hashida was present and thanked the Committee for the opportunity to serve and noted <br /> his passion for hunting and fishing, and that he looks forward to working with the commission. <br /> Council Members from Council Districts 6, 7, and 8 echoed each other providing full support of <br /> the nomination and noting that Mr. Hashida will complement the existing commission members, <br /> has the background and respect for the culture of hunting and fishing, and can provide a <br /> regulatory aspect to the table as well. Committee Chair Richards thanked nominee Hashida for <br /> his willingness to serve and advised that due to his appearance and approval today, it was not <br /> required for him to attend the upcoming confirmation Council meeting. <br /> AWESC Report No. 3 <br />
