Your Committee on Agriculture, Water and Energy Sustainability, to which was referred
Communication No. 752, report as follows:
Communication No. 752, transmitted by Mayor Harry Kim, dated January 31, 2018, nominates
Stanley Mendes of Council District 1 to the County of Hawai`i Game Management Advisory
Commission. Motion to approve nomination of Stanley Mendes was made by Council Member
Poindexter; 2nd by Council Member David.
As introduced by Ms. Barbara Kossow, Deputy Managing Director for the County of Hawai`i,
Mr. Mendes is a lifelong hunter and outdoorsman. Mr. Mendes is not affiliated with any
political party, and if confirmed he will fill a term ending December 31, 2021.
Nominee Mendes was present and thanked the Committee for the opportunity to serve and noted
his passion for hunting and that he looks forward to working with the commission and the
community.
Committee Chair Richards thanked nominee Mendes for his willingness to serve and advised
that due to his appearance and approval today, it was not required for him to attend the upcoming
confirmation Council meeting.

Your Committee on Agriculture, Water and Energy Sustainability is in accord with the purpose
and intent of Communication 752 and recommends confirmation of the appointment of Stanley
Mendes to the County of Hawai`i Game Management Advisory Commission.
