RESOLUTION NO. 520 18
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER FISCAL
YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR A MULTI-YEAR LEASE OF REAL
PROPERTY FOR THE COUNTY OF HAWAII OFFICE OF THE LEGISLATIVE AUDITOR
WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract, lease or other
obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later fiscal year or of more than one
fiscal year be approved by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawai`i Office of the Legislative Auditor is in need of office space
and desires to locate at a portion of TMK: (3) 2-2-011:044, identified as Space No. 308 and 309, in the
Bank of Hawaii Building, situated at 120 Pauahi Street, District of South Hilo, County and State of
Hawai`i and owned by New Kaiko`o Building, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, the Lease is scheduled for occupancy by the County of Hawai`i Office of the
Legislative Auditor beginning May 1, 2018, for a five year term with an additional five year option;
now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the
Honorable Harry Kim, Mayor of the County of Hawai`i, is hereby authorized to enter into a multi-year
Lease with New Kaiko`o Building, Inc., for a five year term beginning May 1, 2018, with an additional
five year option.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to
cover the anticipated obligations of the County under the terms of the Lease.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this resolution to:
(1) Mayor Harry Kim; (2) Department of Finance; (3) Office of the Legislative Auditor; (4) Craig T.
Masuda, Deputy Corporation Counsel, Section Chief; and (5)New Kaiko`o Building, Inc.,100 Pauahi
Street, Suite 215, Hilo, Hawai`i 96720.
