Re: Resolution for multi-year agreement
The Office of the Legislative Auditor currently leases space at the Hilo Ironworks
Building. The lease forthis location expires on April 30, 2018. •
Enclosed is a resolution authorizing the County to enter into a five-year, multi-year lease
agreement with New Kaiko`o Building, Inc., for space in the Bank of Hawai`i building
located at 120 Pauahi Street in Hilo. This property, identified by Tax Map Key (3) 2-2-
011:044 and will be utilized by the Office of the Legislative Auditor. The expected cost
of this lease is $1,838.20 per month.

A. REQUEST:
Prepare County Council submittal authorizing the County of Hawaii Legislative Auditor to enter into a Lease
Agreement for a five (5) year period with an option for an additional five (5) years for lease of space in the
Bank of Hawaii Building.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
The County of Hawaii Legislative Auditor's office currently leases space at the Hilo Ironworks Building. The
current lease expires April 30, 2018 and the Legislative Auditor's office desires to move from their temporary
location closer to the majority of other County offices. The office currently utilizes 1,755 sf of office space at
Hilo Ironworks Building and will move into a smaller space of 1,414 sf. at the Bank of Hawaii Building located
at 120 Pauahi Street, tax map key (3) 2-2-011:044. The new lease will be for a five (5) year period from May
1, 2018 to April 30, 2023 with an option for an additional five (5) years.
