Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication No. 746, reports as follows:
Communication No. 746, transmitted by Mayor Harry Kim, dated February 1, 2018, nominates
George Campbell for reappointment to the Salary Commission.
Deputy Managing Director Barbara Kossow introduced Mr. Campbell who appeared in person.
Several Council Members commented in favor of the reappointment. Chair David stated that
Mr. Campbell did not need to appear at the next Council meeting for confirmation of his appointment.
Pursuant to Article XIII, Section 13-28, Hawai`i County Code, there is established a Salary
Commission, which shall consist of nine members, appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the
Council.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Communication No. 746, and
recommends confirmation of the reappointment of George Campbell to the Salary Commission.
