It has come o ~/o r attention that Mayor Yamashiro has advised the Board ofC~
Directors of th awaii Cultural Council that he is entertaining plans that
woulcJ preclude the renewal of the lease that that they currently hold on the Oid
Police Station building when it terminates on December 31, 2000.
Over the years the Cultural Center building has hosted up to 15,00 visito per ,7
year to the galleries and workshops housed therein, in addition to pr vidin /
home for the Hilo Community Players and the Big Island Dance Cou cil an their ~
individual events.
I/yre strongly object to the displacement of this organization. Qs ou Cou 'I

' Faith is the intuitive experience of all truth and
the meditation-born conviction that we are
made in the omnipotent, all-knowing, all-seeing
image of God. Faith is an innate quality of the
r soul, but in ordinary human beings it is latent. It
has to be awakened, nurtured, and brought into
~ full manifestation by deep meditation which
brings conscious contact with one's soul, and
hence with God.
One who has faith in the divinity of his own soul,
- his true nature, and who has love fur God and '
faith in His omnipotence finds quick frecdum -
from suffering caused by past evil actions. The
light of faith ushers his consciousness from the _
dark realm of mortal limitation into the king-
dom of immoaality of our one Father, God.
