RESOLUTION NO. 531 18
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT FOR EXPENSES RELATED TO THE CIVIL
DEFENSE AGENCY'S PROJECT 360.
WHEREAS,the Hawai`i County Civil Defense Agency develops and maintains
community education and outreach programs to encourage and foster community resiliency
through collaboration, engagement, empowerment, and the expansion of Citizen Corps
programs; and
WHEREAS,the Civil Defense Agency is partnering with the Citizens Corps and the
Community Emergency Response Teams to coordinate and implement Project 360; and
WHEREAS, Project 360 is designed to enhance community resiliency by focusing on
four critical areas:
• Increasing the number of communities on Hawai`i Island with a Community
Emergency Plan,
• Increasing the number of communities on Hawai`i Island with Community
Emergency Response Teams CERT,
• Increasing the number of households on Hawai`i Island that have an `Ohana
Emergency Plan, and
• Increasing Community-based Emergency Communications Capacity and
Capability; and
WHEREAS,the Civil Defense Agency is requesting funds for printing, outreach
materials, surveys, and establishing an on-line informational site for Project 360; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the Civil Defense
Agency for expenses related to Project 360.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Civil Defense Administrator and Director of Finance, and that the Director of
Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
