Please do not raise our taxes. I would rather see a cut in county services, employees
and council persons. When I worked for the County in 1972, after a couple of months of
work, I was of the opinion the County could operate efficiently on a half of its
employees.
Taxes disproportionately hurt the people who can least afford them.
For instance the increase in gas tax hurts the people that drive the most. These are the
people that live in Puna or Ka'u because they cannot afford to live anywhere else.
