Dear County Council and Mayor Kim,
General Excise Tax (GET)

I say raise it to 4.5%, BUT Stop Taxing Food, all Medical, Dental, Vision, Prescription Drugs, and all Medical
and Auto Insurance. You all say you care about us but do you really? Everyone need food, medical, vision care,
prescription drugs, and Insurances.
Restaurants, take-out food, pastry's/donuts, and all drinks/alcohol will still'be taxed as they are now.
Illegal Tax
So one class of citizens are paying another classes tax! ! Fuel Tax, What do you collect from Electric cars?
Nothing! I'm tired of seeing these $40K to $140K cars driving around paying nothing. Some say it's because
there green, they aren't as green as you think. Tires wear out on some at 15,000 miles! The energy it took to
make those battery's and the hazardous waste when you have to replace them at around 8,000 miles and
then get new ones, How green is that. They need to pay for driving on our roads like everyone else. The real
future is Hydrogen power, get on the band wagon.
Bus Service (Or lack -Of)
Get out of the service. Have the New Director write a Performance Based Contact and put the service out to
Bid for private firms to operate under County Direction and contract, Public/Private partnership. You could
keep the Director and 3 others to monitor the service. All existing Bus employees would have the first chance
of hire by the new operator and purchase what is left of the existing buses and equipment. They should have a
yard on both sides of the island including backup buses.
