I strongly support bill 112 to regulate rooster farming. We all know the only purpose to raise
roosters is to sell them for illegal fighting.
To allow this continue means we as a society -support the breeding, the raising, the training of any
animal whose sole purpose is to fight
to the death. We all know that cockfighting is illegal. We all know it will continue until we address
the sale of these birds. The only way to address that is to make it more difficult, therefore less
financially rewarding to raise roosters. This bill will do that. It will also give the community the
support and an avenue to report these farms.
This is a very important bill as it will support quality animal welfare. It will support the community at
large, as It will address our quality of life and protect property value.
Most important for all council members to know, if you dont support this bill or you take no action,
this will indicate your support for illegal gambling and cockfighting.
