I live in Hawaiian Paradise Park and am writing in concern for neighbors around the rooster farms. Several years ago I met a couple at church that had newly moved to HPP and had bought property next to a rooster farm. When first looking at the property, the wife in seeing the little rooster houses, commented naively "how cute" and the real estate agent with them did not explain that they housed roosters and that they would be loudly awakened daily at a very early hour. So now they have sold their house and moved back to mainland USA. Surely they should have been informed of what they would be experiencing. Then there is the situation of a neighbor newly putting in a rooster farm next to an established home. Perhaps there could be a ruling not allowing the new setting up of rooster farms or at least not next to lots with houses. The ruling of 75 feet from the boundary line is a good effort but only slightly modifies the early morning racket that roosters make. I am aware this is a very difficult issue with very strong support as well as strong opposition. But again I remind you rooster fighting is illegal and the rooster farms cause extreme noise to their neighbors. Thus I ask you to please act on this matter and support Bill 112.
