RESOLUTION NO. 549 18
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO GOING HOME
HAWAII FOR ITS GOING HOME CONSORTIUM CONFERENCE.
WHEREAS, Going Home Hawai`i is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focusing on
lowering the recidivism rates on Hawai`i Island by supporting and facilitating the reintegration
of former offenders into the community and workplace; and
WHEREAS, Going Home Hawai`i will be hosting a state wide Going Home Consortium
Conference in Hilo on June 1, 2018, to bring together related service providers, agency
representatives, former and current inmates, and members of the judiciary to address inmate
needs to ensure success upon release and into the future; and
WHEREAS, one of the goals of the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney is to encourage
and promote crime prevention and early intervention initiatives to improve quality of life on
Hawai`i Island and to identify, promote, and implement new and innovative approaches to
solving crime problems; and
WHEREAS, Going Home Hawai`i is requesting financial assistance with costs related to
providing food and beverages for participants at the Going Home Consortium Conference; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment,materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the Office of the
Prosecutng Attorney to provide a grant to Going Home Hawai`i for its Going Home Consortium
Conference.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this-
resolution to the Prosecuting Attorney and Director of Finance, and that the Director of Finance
is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
