Dear Chairwoman Poindexter and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate E. Koohan Paik of Council District 1 to the Public Access,
Open Space, and Natural Resources Preservation Commission (PONC). She
currently works as the Director of Development for the Hawai'i Alliance for Progressive
Action.
Ms. Paik holds a Masters in Fine Arts degree from New York University-Tisch School of
the Arts, a Bachelor's of Arts in Journalism from the University of Southern California.
She has also studied in Italy, France, and at Harvard University. Ms. Paik has lived in
Hawai'i for approximately 5 years.
Ms. Paik is passionate about protecting and preserving Hawai'i's open space and
natural resources.
Ms. Paik states she is not affiliated with any political party. If confirmed, she will serve a
term ending December 31, 2022.
