Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance:amending the Operating Budget by appropriating an additional
$24,362 into the Office.of Housing and Community Development's Community Development
Block Grant(CDBG) account The original appropriation ordinance for Program Year(PR)2017
for CDBG funds was for $2,500,000. However, an additional $24,362 was provided, requiring this
increased in appropriation to accept and utilize all of the funds awarded.
Enclosedis a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating these
additional funds into the Administration,Planning& Fair Housing account, and bringing the total
appropriation to $2,52.4,362:.

A. REQUEST:
Please submit the attached bill to amend Ordinance No. 17-39, as amended, the Operating Budget for
the County of Hawaii for the Fiscal Year ending June 30, 2018 for the additional Community
Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds received and to appropriate the same for the General Fund, as
follows:
010.931.5935.77 Administration, Planning & Fair Housing $ 24,362.00
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED) :
The Office of Housing and Community Development (OHCD) appropriated $450, 000.00 of its 2017 CDBG
allocation for Administration, Planning & Fair Housing. However, the County received an additional
$24,362.00 above its anticipated $2,500,000.00. Therefore, the OHCD is requesting to appropriate
these additional funds to Account No. 010.931.5935.77 Administration, Planning & Fair Housing.
