Re: Acceptance of Donation
In accordance with (1) Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawai`i County Charter, which
provides that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of
money, securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate,
and with (2) Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (b), of the Hawai`i County Code, which
states that a gift or donation of money, securities, or personal property not covered by the
capitalization procedures.(of the Department of Finance) shall be submitted to the
Council by letter forits approval, we request the Council's approval of the following
donation:
Fourteen folding chairs and three tables,with a total value of$558.15, donated by On
Target, Inc., do Glennon Gingo, President,P.O. Box 396, HOlualoa,Hawaii 96725.
These furnishings will be used at the Hilo Trap and Skeet Range.
We ask that a letter of appreciation be sent to the donor at the address indicated above. If
there are any questions, please donot hesitate to call Reid Sewake of the Department of
Parks and Recreation at 961-8560.

A. REQUEST:
To accept donation of 14 folding chairs and 3 tables from On Target, Inc. These tables and chairs will be
used for trainings, programs, classes and other events at the Hilo Trap & Skeet Range.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
Council action is being requested to accept and acknowledge a donation of 14 folding chairs and 3 tables
from On Target, Inc. to be used at the Hilo Trap & Skeet Range. The tables and chairs are valued at
$558.15

RE: Letter of Acceptance of a$558.15 Donation to Hawai`i County Department of Parks and
Recreation
Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of
Hawai`i, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above-referenced matter be
waived from the Committee on Finance to the full Council for immediate action. In reviewing
this matter, timely approval is crucial. It is therefore advantageous that approval is granted and
the matter be placed onto the next Council agenda for review. However, in the event this request
is denied, for whatever reason, I understand the matter shall be referred to the Committee on
Finance for placement on its future agenda.
