J�tY OF p.,17•. <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII +� �' !�•- STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 563 18 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE ARTS AND <br /> SCIENCE CENTER FOR THE HAWAII ACADEMY OF ARTS AND SCIENCE <br /> PUBLIC CHARTER SCHOOL'S SENIOR TRIP AND GRADUATION DINNER. <br /> WHEREAS, the Arts and Science Center(ASC) is a 501(c)(3)nonprofit organization, <br /> established in Pahoa in 2003, that supports community development, greater access to education, <br /> and improving the quality of life through learning with aloha; and <br /> WHEREAS, ASC is collaborating with students, parents, teachers, and staff of the <br /> Hawai`i Academy of Arts and Science Public Charter School (HAASPCS)to provide a senior <br /> trip and graduation dinner for the graduating seniors of HAASPCS, class of 2018; and <br /> WHEREAS, ASC is requesting funds to assist with transportation costs for a day trip to <br /> Hapuna Beach State Recreation Area and for dinner at the Queens Court Restaurant for 40 students <br /> and their adult chaperones; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports prosocial engagement for youth <br /> and young adults that promote sober fun through participation in drug- and alcohol-free events <br /> with peers; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to ASC for the HAASPCS senior trip and graduation dinner. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
