RESOLUTION NO. 564 la
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT FOR EXPENSES RELATED TO THE CIVIL
DEFENSE AGENCY'S PROJECT 360.
WHEREAS,the Hawai`i County's Civil Defense Agency directs and coordinates the
development and administration of the County's emergency preparedness and response program
to ensure prompt and effective action when a natural or man-caused disaster threatens or occurs
anywhere in the County; and
WHEREAS, the Citizen Corps Council and the Community Emergency Response
Teams (CERT) are community-based programs of the Civil Defense Agency that educate the
community on how to properly prepare and respond to an emergency and provide support to
emergency response organizations when the need arises; and
WHEREAS, the Citizen Corps Council and CERT are coordinating Project 360, which
will be an island-wide campaign to bring emergency preparedness to all communities; and
WHEREAS, the Civil Defense Agency supports this campaign and is requesting funds to
provide for printing, outreach materials, surveys, and construction of a website for Project 360;
now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to the Civil Defense
Agency to assist with expenses relating to Project 360.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Civil Defense Administrator and Director of Finance, and that the Director of
Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
