RESOLUTION NO. .5 ® 1
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE HAWAII ARTIST
COLLABORATION TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES ASSOCIATED WITH THE WEST
HAWAII COMMUNITY BEACH CLEANUP.
c nonprofit the Hawai`i Artist Collaboration is a 501(c)(3) p rofit or ganiization
whose mission is to create opportunities for organizations and educators to share their collective
knowledge, experiences, and resources for the benefit of society and Hawai`i's culture; and
WHEREAS, the Big Island Wave Riders Against Drugs and numerous organizations and
community groups coordinated the annual West Hawai`i Community Beach Cleanup between
Puako and Miloli`i, which took place on March 3, 2018; and
WHEREAS, the Hawai`i Artist Collaboration stimulates artistic inspiration in youth by
supporting special events such as the annual West Hawaii Community Beach Cleanup event that
beautifies our coastline; and
WHEREAS, the Hawai`i Artist Collaboration is requesting funds for reimbursement of
expenses for radio advertisements, t-shirts, lunch, and goodie bags for each participant of the
beach cleanup; and
WHEREAS, one of the Department of Liquor Control's goals is to support public and
youth programs that promote alcohol- and drug-free events, such as this beach cleanup initiative
to provide a safe and healthy environment for the community; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment,materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to the Department of
Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Hawai`i Artist Collaboration to assist with expenses
associated with the West Hawai`i Community Beach Cleanup.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Department of Liquor Control and Director of Finance, and that the Director of
Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
