J.tv os M;,*,. <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 571 18 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE HAWAII ARTIST <br /> COLLABORATION FOR THE WEST HAWAII COMMUNITY BEACH CLEANUP. <br /> WHEREAS,the Hawai`i Artist Collaboration is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization <br /> whose mission is to create opportunities for organizations and educators to share their collective <br /> knowledge, experiences, and resources for the benefit of society and Hawai`i's culture; and <br /> WHEREAS, numerous organizations and community groups coordinated the annual <br /> West Hawai`i Community Beach Cleanup that occurred on March 3, 2018, which included <br /> County and State beaches from Miloli`i to Puako; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Hawai`i Artist Collaboration educates the community on the <br /> importance of working together to beautify our communities through creative efforts such as the <br /> West Hawai`i Community Beach Cleanup event; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawai`i Artist Collaboration is requesting reimbursement of funds for <br /> trash bags, t-shirts, lunch, and goodie bags for all volunteers of the West Hawai`i Community <br /> Beach Cleanup; and <br /> WHEREAS,the Department of Liquor Control supports drug-free events and activities, <br /> such as this beach cleanup initiative that encourages our youth to get involved in the community; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Hawai`i Artist Collaboration to assist with expenses <br /> associated with the West Hawai`i Community Beach Cleanup. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
