RESOLUTION NO. 571 18
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE HAWAII ARTIST
COLLABORATION FOR THE WEST HAWAII COMMUNITY BEACH CLEANUP.
WHEREAS,the Hawai`i Artist Collaboration is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization
whose mission is to create opportunities for organizations and educators to share their collective
knowledge, experiences, and resources for the benefit of society and Hawai`i's culture; and
WHEREAS, numerous organizations and community groups coordinated the annual
West Hawai`i Community Beach Cleanup that occurred on March 3, 2018, which included
County and State beaches from Miloli`i to Puako; and
WHEREAS,the Hawai`i Artist Collaboration educates the community on the
importance of working together to beautify our communities through creative efforts such as the
West Hawai`i Community Beach Cleanup event; and
WHEREAS, the Hawai`i Artist Collaboration is requesting reimbursement of funds for
trash bags, t-shirts, lunch, and goodie bags for all volunteers of the West Hawai`i Community
Beach Cleanup; and
WHEREAS,the Department of Liquor Control supports drug-free events and activities,
such as this beach cleanup initiative that encourages our youth to get involved in the community;
and
WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code,
Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via
resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event,
activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now,
therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the Department of
Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Hawai`i Artist Collaboration to assist with expenses
associated with the West Hawai`i Community Beach Cleanup.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Liquor Control and Director of Finance, and that the Director of
Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of this
resolution.
