4oJpt os ,' ' <br /> 11; <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAIIIi .' %:•_ STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 578 18 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HAWAII WILDLIFE <br /> CENTER FOR ITS WILDLIFE SERVICES PROGRAM. <br /> WHEREAS, Hawai`i Wildlife Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with the <br /> mission of protecting, conserving, and aiding in the recovery of Hawai`i's native wildlife <br /> through hands-on treatment,research, training, science education, and cultural programs; and <br /> WHEREAS, Hawai`i Wildlife Center is the first organization of its kind exclusively for <br /> native Hawaiian wildlife that provides rehabilitation for native animals, including the Hawaiian <br /> hoary bat; and <br /> WHEREAS, Hawai`i Wildlife Center is requesting funds to assist with its Wildlife <br /> Services program, specifically to provide treatment and food to the native wildlife patients in the <br /> hospital, medications and diagnostic services, transportation, and maintenance of its hospital and <br /> aviaries; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Research and Development supports programs that <br /> promote sustainable development of agriculture, forestry, aquaculture, and other natural <br /> resources in Hawai`i County; and <br /> WHEREAS,pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Research and Development to provide a grant to Hawai`i Wildlife Center for expenses relating to <br /> its Wildlife Services program. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
