RESOLUTION NO. 5E3'7 18
A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT
AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A
DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND
RECREATION'S SUMMER TEEN SCENE PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, the County of Hawai`i provides several diversified recreation programs that
address the needs and interests of our youth in a safe environment with zero tolerance for illegal
drugs and violence; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation, Recreation Division, is
coordinating the summer Teen Scene Program for students who have completed seventh, eighth,
ninth, or tenth grade, which is scheduled from June 12 to July 20, 2018, at Pu`u`eo Community
Center located at Clem Akina Park; and
WHEREAS, the Teen Scene Program is specially designed for teenagers to teach them
"life skills" such as cooking, arts and crafts, leadership activities, career exploration, sports,
excursions, and other fun activities; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation is requesting funding assistance to
purchase a generator, cooking equipment,tents, games, supplies, and other miscellaneous items
related to the Teen Scene Program; now,therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that
Contingency Relief funds from Council District 1 will be appropriated to the Department of
Parks and Recreation for its summer Teen Scene Program.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the Countyof Hawaii hereby
transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:

BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk shall transmit a copy of this
resolution to the Director of Parks and Recreation and Director of Finance, and that the Director
of Finance is hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers in accordance with the terms of
this resolution.
