Re: Resolution for
multi-year agreement
The Hawaii Fire Department currently leases space at 1990 Kino`ole Street in Hilo. The
lease for this location expires.on May 31, 201,8:
Enclosed is a resolution authorizing the County to enter into a five-year, multi-year lease
agreement with an option for an additional five-years with Kaneshiro & Sons Enterprise,
Limited and Glenn Kaneshiro Partnership, for space in 1990 Kino'ole Street. This
property, identified by Tax Map Key(3)2-2-040:03.6 and will be utilized by the Hawaii __
Fire Department for storage. The expected cost of this lease is expected to remain at the
current amount of$4,958.35per month.

A. REQUEST:
Prepare County Council submittal authorizing the County of Hawaii Fire Department to enter into a Lease
Agreement for a five (5)year period with an option for an additional five (5) years for lease of space at 1990
Kinoole Street.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
The County of Hawaii Fire Department currently leases warehouse space at 1990 Kinoole Street. The
current lease expires on May 31, 2018 and the Fire Department desires to continue its lease of the
warehouse space. The new lease will be at the current rental amount of$4,958.35 for a five (5) year period
from June 1, 2018 to May 31, 2023 with an option for an additional five (5) years.
