REPORT OF THE <br /> COMMITTEE ON PUBLIC SAFETY <br /> AND MASS TRANSIT <br /> DATE: April 10, 2018 Re: Comm.No. 833 <br /> PLACE: Hilo, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 9:03 a.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Public Safety and Mass Transit, to which was referred Communication No. 833, <br /> reports as follows: <br /> Communication 833,transmitted by Mayor Harry Kim, dated March 21, 2018, nominates Kyle Keamo <br /> of Council District 2 to the Fire Commission. Mr. Keamo is a teacher at Hilo High School, from which <br /> he is also an alumni. He possesses a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise and Sports Sciences from <br /> Brigham Young University-Hawai`i.. <br /> A lifelong resident of Hawai`i, Mr. Keamo has coached various youth sporting teams and expressed an <br /> interest in giving back to the community. <br /> Mr. Keamo indicates that he is not affiliated with any political party. If confirmed, he will fill a vacant <br /> seat with a term that expires on December 31, 2021. Mr. Keamo had a scheduling conflict and was not <br /> able to appear before the Committee.
