Your Committee on Public Works and Parks and Recreation, to which was referred Bill No. 125,
reports as follows:
Bill No. 125, transmitted by Council Member Dru Mamo Kanuha, via Communication 818,
dated March 20, 2018, names a county park within Alii Kai Subdivision, situated at Tax Map
Key: 7-6-019:034, and amends Chapter 15, Article 8, Section 15-68.1 of the Hawai`i County
Code 1983 (2016 Edition; as amended), relating to the Parks and Recreational facility schedule.
Alii Kai, Inc., donated this real property to the County of Hawai`i on December 3, 1997, via
Resolution No. 178-97 for the purpose of developing a park. The park was developed and opened for
public use on May 12, 2016. This bill officially names Alii Kai Park and adds it to the Parks and
Recreational facility schedule.
Your Committee on Public Works and Parks and Recreation is in accord with the purpose and intent of
Bill No. 125, and recommends its passage on first reading.
