Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 134, reports as follows:
Bill No. 134, transmitted by Finance Director Deanna S. Sako, via Communication No. 853 dated March
21, 2018, amends Ordinance No. 17-39, as amended, the Operating Budget for the County of Hawai`i
for the Fiscal Year ending June 30, 2018.
This bill increases revenues in the Federal—2018 HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME)
($2,375,000) and HOME Grant—Program Income ($50,000) accounts, for a total of$2,425,000; and
appropriates the same to the Kaloko Heights Affordable Housing($1.4 million); Tenant Base Rental
Assistance Program ($900,000); and Office of Housing and Community Development Administration
($125,000) accounts. Funds would be used towards projects that benefit persons of low and moderate
income throughout Hawai`i Island.
There was no discussion on this measure.
Your Committee on Finance is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 134, and recommends
its passage on first reading.
