II STATE OF HAWAII: RESOLUTION NO. 593 18 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE WAIAKEA HIGH SCHOOL FOUNDATION TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES RELATING TO WAIAKEA HIGH SCHOOL'S ATHLETIC PROGRAMS. WHEREAS, the Waiakea High School Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports the students of Waiakea High School; and WHEREAS, the Waiakea High School Foundation requests funds to assist Waiakea High School's athletic programs with purchasing sports equipment, uniforms, weights, and athletic training supplies; and WHEREAS, Waiakea High School's athletic programs promote substance-free, healthy lifestyles through athletic activities,personal growth and development through interscholastic competition, and responsible life choices; and WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports public and youth programs through education, enforcement, and activities that promote compliance with liquor laws; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, ProJect event, activity, service, equipment,materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Waiakea High School Foundation to assist with expenses related to Waiakea High School's athletic programs. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: 1
