Dear Chair Poindexter and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate James William Weatherford of Council District 4 to the
Transportation Commission.
Prior to his retirement, Mr. Weatherford worked at senior policy level for a large mass
transit agency located in Adelaide, South Australia. This experience helped give him an
understanding of transportation issues. Mr. Weatherford holds a doctorate degree in
Agricultural Economics from the University of Tennessee.
Mr. Weatherford has a list of community service, which includes previous terms on the
Puna Community Development Plan and the Puna Community Regional Circulation
Plan.
Mr. Weatherford indicates that he is a member of the Democratic Party. If confirmed, he
will serve a full term to expire December 31, 2022.
