SUBJECT: Request for discussion on the formation of a Short-Term Vacation
Rentals Ad Hoc committee to conduct further research on zoning district
impacts and to gather input from the public.
By means of this communication I am requesting 30 minutes on the March 13, 2018 Planning
Committee Agenda to discuss the formation of a Short Term and Vacation Rental Ad Hoc
committee to conduct further research and gather input from the public.
This Ad Hoc Committee's membership will be open to up to four County Council members. I
will be volunteering my service on the committee.
This Ad Hoc Committee will begin its work by reviewing Bill 108 and all related documents and
information provided by its authors. The committee's research and discussions will include;
zoning district impacts,permitting,taxation, on-sight management and enforcement. This
committee will also seek input from the public by considering and implementing appropriate
community engagement opportunities.
