Dear Chair Poindexter and Council Members:
It is my pleasure to nominate Katharine T. Cannon-Eger to the Banyan Drive Hawai'i
Redevelopment Agency.
Ms. Cannon-Eger spent 11 years in the landscape design and maintenance field. Prior
to that, she held a lengthy career in public relations and computer services with Cannon
& Eger Public Relations and Computer Services. Ms. Cannon-Eger obtained a Bachelor
of Arts degree from St. Mary's College for Women, Notre Dame and has emeritus status
as a Master Gardener with the University of Hawai'i at Manoa Komohana Agricultural
Complex.
As founding member and current President of the Friends of Lili'uokalani Gardens, Ms.
Cannon-Eger's dedicated work towards preserving and maintaining the Gardens, a
centerpiece of Banyan Drive, has been an invaluable service to our community
Ms. Cannon-Eger resides in Kea'au and has lived in Hawai'i for 42 years. She indicates
that she is not a member of any political party. If confirmed, Ms. Cannon-Eger will serve
a term to expire on May 31, 2023.
